Changeover to well system for Frisco Ranch is now complete. The system is stable, and further monitoring will continue for a short while.
Frisco West will be reconnecting to its well and pump stations on Monday, September 18, 2023 at some time between 1pm and 2pm. During this time, we will be disconnecting from the emergency connection to the Town of Little Elm’s water and will operate the system as normal. Any pressure changes experienced during this time will be minimal and shortlived. We will be working diligently to ensure this transition is as smooth as possible. To monitor differences due to the switch back to well water, Frisco West will remain in stage 3 drought contingency at this time. Once we can ensure that all equipment, software, and hardware are working as intended, we anticipate a quick return to Stage 2 drought restrictions. We will then assess further reductions of watering restrictions on a rolling basis.
We understand that this has been a difficult situation for many residents, and some may continue to have concerns about the supply of water once we return to normal well use. To assuage these concerns, we have taken the following steps:
- The district has run various tests on the communication system to ensure proper functionality. At this time, previous communication errors have been corrected and additional updates made. All tests have returned with no errors, indicating proper functionality. These systems will continue to be monitored closely as an additional backstop against water pressure loss.
- The system is scheduled to begin normal operations Monday between 1:00pm – 2:00pm. In the event there is a loss of pressure event that cannot be corrected, the district will resume service using the emergency connection with Little Elm. Should that be necessary, the water operator will need to flush the system for a period of approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour. To be clear, we do not anticipate this will be needed, but wanted to alert you to our plans should we face unexpected circumstances.
- The normal well water supply will continue to be tested on a regular basis to ensure safety. We do not anticipate any concerns with the quality or safety of the water, as our water consistently passes safety tests.
We appreciate your understanding during this time. As a reminder, below are the current restrictions all residents of Frisco West are asked to follow until further notice.
